Part of the ambition of the ACFF is to equip committed groups of volunteers around the world to design and implement locally applicable projects to fight against cavities in their countries. The first local ACFF Chapter to launch was in Colombia in May 2011. The ACFF network has since expanded hugely and currently hosts 28 local Chapters, spanning 6 continents.
Chapters are run by dedicated local teams of dental and public health professionals and educators, committed to achieving the goals of the ACFF. Each Chapter works ‘Glocally’, taking the global ACFF mission and translating it to fit the needs and capabilities of their own populations, forming their own goals based on local circumstance and need. These goals vary hugely, often offering targets related to education, public policy change and improvements in the quality of dental health provision for children or other ‘at risk’ groups.
