ACFF Holds 9th Annual Summit at the 2018 FDI Meetings in Buenos Aires

September 12, 2018

The annual global report of the Alliance for a Cavity-Free Future was given at the ninth annual ACFF summit meeting on Friday 7th September 2018 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The meeting consisted of a report on recent ACFF activities around the world, including Latin American and curriculum development overviews from Professor Marcelo Bonecker, chair of the ACFF Brazilian Chapter, and Professor Stefania Martignon, co-chair of the ACFF Colombia Chapter. The summit also included an update on the Second ACFF Dental Policy Lab meeting, held in conjunction with King’s College London Dental Institute and the Policy Institute at King’s in July of 2018. The meeting, titled ‘Towards paying for health in dentistry- how do we create and implement acceptable prevention-based dental payment systems to achieve and maintain health outcomes?’ was reported by Dr James Taylor, Chief Dental Officer of Canada, who was in attendance at the Policy Lab meeting. Professor Nigel Pitts, ACFF Global Chairman then reported to the congress the planned next steps and initial progress seen following the meeting, the report for which will be published before the end of 2018.
